A neighbor had three 47-54 Chevy AD (Advance Design) trucks he got way back when and they had been sitting there for years. Big plans that never happened kind of thing. BTDT. One day he asked me if I could market some old Jeeps he also had. I did and they sold quick and I got him more than what he was asking. During conversation, he said he was ready to let go of the ADs. About the same time, I was looking for a wrecker and project vehicles. I found a wrecker but the seller wanted to sell it along with a 1950 Chevy Loadmaster 2 ton as a package deal. I looked into the AD situation and found that they sell.
So I brought the three ADs down here from my neighbor's. I also got the 2 ton and 73 Chevy wrecker. It's an old sling type Holmes unit and it's very handy for lifting cabs and beds, not to mention moving things around the yard. It will be a while before the wrecker is road worthy but I have plenty of ADs to work on meanwhile. The one that was originally turquoise and painted over white was driven around this area for years. It's basically complete and has a title. The 2 ton also has a title and the rest are parts.
